What is 'reportage' photography?

Reportage, candid or documentary photojournalism is a style or approach to photography which results in a number of images taken to chronicle the events of the wedding day. Instead of arranging a number of set posed images, the photographs are captured as the day unfolds, often without the subjects being aware. This approach is what Elvis Green use alongside some stylish posed photos to create beautiful album books.

Are you available before and after the ceremony, for reception party or at home before?

Yes, the photographer can visit your home before the ceremony though there may be a charge for this - please see the price list for details. Reception party photography is also available.

Will there be an assistant?

Sometimes two people will turn up on the day depending on the size of the wedding. This does not usually cost any extra and typically only one person will turn up which is usually sufficient. If you require two people please let us know before the day.

How much is the deposit and when is this due?

The deposit to secure your photographer for the day is £150. The sooner this is paid, the more chance you will have of securing the date. The date will remain open until that deposit is received unless otherwise agreed. Full payment is usually due 2 weeks before the wedding.

I have a list of shots I require, can you follow this?

Yes, you can be very specific about what you require from the photographer or simply let them guide proceedings. If you want different locations with different guests then simply let us know before the day.

How long will the photos take?

Depending on the order of the day, we would normally recommend that you set aside around an hour for formal photographs, and usually a list of up to 20 group combinations. If you have a long list, then this may need to be longer. This is often shortly after the ceremony while people are having a drink before dinner.

Do I have to provide the photographer with food and transport?

No, we can be fairly self-sufficient! If the photographer is staying for the reception party, a bar meal away from your guests would be a generous gesture.

Is there a charge for extra prints?

Yes. Your photos are viewable on the ElvisGreen.com website and copies are available for purchase. Extra prints and albums are charged on a quotation basis, simply let us know your requirements before or after the day.

How soon will proofs be available?

This can vary, but usually proofs are available within one month of the wedding, often much sooner. No guarantees are made, however, as other factors such as pro labs may cause delays.

Who owns the rights to the images?

Elvis Green will retain the rights to the images unless you opt to pay for a photo disc (CD or DVD).

What is the cancellation policy?

In the unfortunate event that your wedding is cancelled or the date is changed within one month of the day then the deposit will be retained. If notice is given prior to one month then a full refund may be available at the discretion of Elvis Green.

What happens if you cannot make it?

In the unlikely event that the person you have previously met is unavailable, we will arrange an alternative at no extra charge.

How soon after the event is payment due?

Typically, payment is due in full 2 weeks before the wedding however if you would like to spread the payments, this may be possible by prior arrangement and is subject to acceptance.

How is the date confirmed?

On receipt of a deposit a formal contract will be sent to you. This will secure a photographer for your day.
